Read Across America Week

We celebrated Read Across America Week with a Literacy Night, a guest visitor Magician (who happened to also be deaf!), lots of reading and a Dr. Seuss themed decorated building!  It was beautiful!  Our PTA is amazing and did an awesome job of making the building feel like a Seuss-village!!  We decided to integrate our Dr. Seuss theme into our hall display by creating a fraction craftivity around the Lorax Truffulla trees!  Check them out--and our delightful sneechy-keen door!!

And while we're talking about READING,  I thought I'd post this.  I found it online and thought parents would really be interested in seeing this research!  We all know reading is important, but this display is astounding!!  Look what reading just 20 minutes a night can do to build your child's vocabulary and test scores!!!
