It is hard to believe we are already in MAY!! This year has flown by!! I am really going to miss this class! I say it every year--but we become a close little family in this room and I love each of my sweet kids so much! I'm so proud of how much they've learned and what they've accomplished this year and I know you're proud of them too!! They've worked HARD and now it's time to SHINE! I keep telling them KPREP is their chance to show what they know!
With upcoming testing, we will not have our weekly reading, spelling or ANY homework during KPREP testing weeks. (May 7-14). Enjoy these 2 weeks ! You can help your child by reminding them how hard they've worked this year and how much they've learned! They will do so well on the test! Do your best--no stress! That's our motto! You can also help by encouraging them at home, helping them get a good, nutritious breakfast and extra rest at night! Getting in bed a little earlier and reading with them can help calm any testing fears they may have.
We are going to begin our last literature book with the funny and fabulous, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume. This will complete our author study and bring us full circle this year because we started the year off with Freckle Juice by Judy Blume and now we'll end it with the same author! She is one of my favorite authors and my students always adore the characters in her books!
